

Misdemeanors and felonies are handled by the District Courts. Criminal Records - Infractions and city code violations are handled by the Municipal Courts.At the fourth and highest level is the Oklahoma Supreme Court, which reviews civil cases from lower courts. Criminal appeals can go no higher than the Court of Criminal Appeals. Both handle appealed cases from lower courts as directed by the Supreme Court. At the third level is Court of Civil Appeals and the Court of Criminal Appeals. The second level has two special courts: the Workers Compensation Court that hears worker compensation claims and the Court on Tax Review that hears cases involving illegal tax levies. Second are the District Courts, which handle most civil and criminal cases.


At the first level are Municipal Courts, which handle violations of city ordinances.
